Jim began his career in financial planning in 1987 in San Diego, CA.

Jim founded his current firm, CURO Financial Planning, in 2017 with the help of his business partner, Ciano Villaquiran. In 2021, CURO Financial transitioned from the insurance-based BD world to the Hybrid IBD/RIA firm The Ameriflex Group.
CURO Financial Planning specializes in helping consumers navigate the retirement transition.
Jim has obtained several professional designations, including CFP, ChFC, CLU, CASL, RICP, and BFA because he values lifetime learning and growth.
Jim is a master chef and ice sculptor, and he enjoys living in Encinitas, CA, with his wife, Jeannie. Jim and Jeannie have three adult children: Brett, Troy, and Danielle.
